چکیده

As part of our ongoing research on phytoconstituents that can act as promising antimicrobial agents, the essential oils nine selected Apiaceae plants, cultivated in Poland, were studied. The volatiles aerial parts with fruits (herba cum fructi) Silaum silaus, Seseli devenyense, libanotis,Ferula assa-foetida, Glehnia littoralis and Heracleum dulce, addition to (fructi) Torilis japonica Orlaya grandiflora well (herba) Peucedanum luxurians investigated through Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry identify more than 60 different metabolites. from S. H. T. P. are reported for first time. All examined species also assayed their activities against several human pathogenic Gram-positive -negative bacteria fungi. devenyense libanotis exerted strongest activity, mostly strains (MIC values 0.90–1.20 mg/mL). To best knowledge, this is attempt determine activity above species.

Emission of iodine-containing volatiles by selected microalgae species

In this study we present the results of an emission study of different phytoplankton samples in aqueous media treated with elevated ozone levels. Halocarbon measurements show that the samples tested released bromoform and different iodocarbons, including iodomethane, iodochloromethane and diiodomethane. Iodide and iodate levels in the liquid phase were representative of concentrations of surfac...

Essential oils from two endemic species of Apiaceae from Iran.

The composition of essential oils of Leutea glaucopruinosa (Rech.f.) Akhani & Salimian comb. nov., and Zeravschania (Boiss. & Hausskn.) Salimian & Akhani comb. nov. were analysed by GC-MS. 49 compounds are identified in the former and 33 compounds in the latter, comprising a total of 76 compounds in both species. Both species were originally described under Peucedanum, which are transferred in ...

Semenovia gyirongensis (Apiaceae), a new species from Xizang, China

Based on morphology and molecular data, a new species Semenovia gyirongensis Q.Y.Xiao & X.J.He, from Gyirong County, Xizang, China, is described and illustrated. It is morphologically most similar to S. malcolmii (Hemsley & Pearson) Pimenov, but differs in its cylindric much-branched root, intensively branching long underground caudex with distinct nodes, narrowly ovate to ovate terminal leaf l...

Capsaicinoids Extraction from Several Capsicum Species Cultivated in Romania

The latest world trends in scientific research are directed towards the production and application of secondary metabolites. The plant of the genus Capsicum produces a fruit (chilli pepper) with unique bioactive compounds. Pepper fruits are a rich source of metabolites with potential health-promoting properties, for example carotenoids (provitamin A), ascorbic acid (vitamin C), tocopherols (vit...
